Dustin Stoddart co-owns Waystone Wargaming Speakeasy, a welcoming, community-driven club and bar for miniatures games located in Seattle. He began fostering community around games at age 10, when he taught himself how to create websites for his favorite online games. As a former elementary-school teacher, he believes playing games together is one of the best ways we can learn, be creative, contend with hard things, and connect.
Recently, Dustin has been developing a fan-made campaign system for the Battletech miniatures game called the Force Command Primer, now being playtested by gaming groups across the world. The project aims to blend the crunchy mechanical and financial simulation of traditional Battletech with a more modern focus on accessibility and player experience.
As a business owner, Dustin is working towards making Waystone a small business with long-term sustainability while maintaining its identity as a welcoming, community-first space. Swing by—you can usually catch him behind the bar on Fridays and Sundays!
