Miranda Cagle (she/they), also known as The Exhausted Duck in online spaces, is a queer artist from Shelton, Washington, who has recently found her passion for art making through character and game design. Currently, Miranda is a full time student at The Evergreen State College. Her primary study in school has been visual art with an emphasis on character design, graphic design, printmaking, and game design, and has recently worked on a game titled 21 Days.
Miranda’s tabletop roleplaying game, 21 Days, takes players through godhood by making them work together to create a world from scratch, in only 21 days. Players must roleplay, make creative decisions, and tap into their inner dramatic selves as they deal with problems that arise from their creations while they continue to build.
In her art, Miranda explores the social nuances of humanity, power, and those subjected to power. She aims to tackle the mechanisms behind humanity and power by returning to art making that emphasizes the joy of creation over the creation of a product. In her free time, she plays a lot of life simulator videogames, takes naps, collects dolls, and hangs out with her anxious cat Bubbles.
Miranda looks forward to going out into the world and finding designers that need characters for their games, or concept art, or creatures. They hope to bring a bright spot in the workplace, and some damn fun artwork too.
