Andy’s game Lamplighters: West is a magical western campaign setting built for new players & busy schedules. Built around one shots & changing party make-ups, the campaign was created to get those curious about Dungeons & Dragons around a table for the first time in a low pressure, no commitment way. For the players, there are pre-made characters for those new to the game, simple questions to help them find a character that suits them, and a style of play that allows for changing party make-ups to take the pressure off of attending every session.
For the DM, the game has been streamlined as a series of one-shots; light on prep, with plenty of customized random encounter tables to flesh out the game into a diverse world that feels both lived-in & dangerous. Scheduling games can be done easily, with no need to pause the campaign if individual players can’t make it, or can even be done by the players themselves.
The goal of Lamplighters: West is to make the game as accessible as possible so that friends can focus on playing rather than set up. The one-shot games are interwoven into a larger story- a magical western filled with secrets to be uncovered and a slow burning mystery to be unraveled. The author, Andy Ducro, believes that imagination & play are missing from most people’s lives, and designs products to get even more people into the game at a time when tabletop gaming is experiencing a golden age of publicity. Get together. Roll some dice. Have fun.
