Matilda Freeman is an amateur writer and game designer from Seattle, Washington. She is currently a student at Evergreen State College, studying writing and game design. History has also been a longtime fascination for her and has acted as a key influence to Matilda’s approach to art, immensely invested in human relationships to past and place. Games too have also always been part of Matilda’s own personal history. Her parents met over dungeons and dragons and games have been the keystone that would grow in her a love of writing and worldbuilding growing up.

Carnalid: Litanies of Ash and Flame is a melancholy setting for MORK BORG in a world where years after a fallen empire’s violence and oppression the world is left haunted by ghosts and plagues. Yet still even thick clouds of ashes left behind by the dead cannot completely smother the sun. People have had time to form into new communities as time has passed. Carnalid: Litanies of Ash and Flame comes with unique classes that speak to the world around them: From Priestesses blessed by Sacred Flames to feral witches whose bodies are suffused with rot and decay.

You were born too late to save the world, but the sun still watches you.
